Connections to the Outside World
Like in a nearby civilization, Mesopotamia also relied on their river. Both civilizations used irrigation to help bring water to their crops and water to their mouths. Also because of the silt that the river deposit into the land, it’s used as a good fertilizer, thus bringing agriculture into their life. Like in the US how we use our flat lands to our advantage to grow crops in Illinois such as corn and soybeans. Both Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt are both know as river civilizations, other civilizations are Ancient India and Ancient China with their river Indus and the Yellow river respectively. In all of these the rivers provided water, good soil for agriculture , and making transportation much easier. It also allowed irrigation for the crops, however the water from the Nile as much it brought life it would eventually lead to problematic issues today in our world.
